Music

Music has always been a part of my life and never sat separately from the rest of how I think. Playing has become something that steadies me differently from other things — the reason I first noticed how quickly a piece of music can move someone from one state to another. That observation is what made me want to know whether the effect could be used deliberately, and it became the question behind my Music Scholar research.

Orchestral Experience

Ensemble playing rests on collaboration — listening as much as playing, matching another player’s phrasing, and holding a line together across a whole section.
